Over or under: ten Oscar nominations?

Art Direction, Cinematography, Costumes, Editing and Sound are probably absolute givens, no matter how the film is received. Add to that the probability of Day-Lewis, and that at least one of it's female supporting cast is likely to be nominated - if not three, which could be doable - most likely of which is probably Judi Dench (because Cruz and Cotillard just won). I SERIOUSLY wouldn't count out Fergie right now. Sound Editing and Make-Up have a definite chance as well. Adapted Screenplay would only happen if the film is nominated for Picture and/or Director, which is possible if completely up in the air. And if there's an original song it's definitely going to be nominated.

So anywhere between 5 and 14 noms are doable. I'm going with 8. Yeah.

Fergie? Fergie?!

Anyway. I have a feeling DDL isn't going to get nominated for this one. I can't really make assumptions from a very mysterious trailer, but I just don't feel it. He looks amazing though. Dench is like a shoe-in, the Academy loves her. Definitely songs, costumes, sound, cinematography, art direction and probably makeup. I'd love to see Sophia Loren get a nom. I think Cruz has a good chance as well. God, so much to analyze in this film.

I think it'll be a big deal, thus getting Picture, Screenplay and Direction nods. So that's 12..damn. Chicago got 13, so it's possible.

Okay, why didn't I write all that in the post..?
